Self-Care & Health Restart: Get a fresh start with these self-care tips

Self-Care & Health Restart: Neu durchstarten mit diesen Self-Care-Tipps

Freeing your body and mind and starting anew... We all wish for that from time to time. But how can you achieve such a mental and physical reboot ?

We hold the key to this new beginning: We must recognize our physical, emotional, and spiritual needs and strive to fulfill them. This works primarily through consistent self-care. However, integrating self-care into our daily lives is often difficult. So we've put together some tips that you can easily incorporate into your daily routine.

If you want to make a fresh start in terms of physical and mental health, these 6 self-care tips will guide you on your journey:

1 Learn gratitude

Gratitude and a positive mindset not only affect your mood—they can also boost your physical health. When you focus on what you're grateful for, your body may produce more serotonin, oxytocin, and dopamine. These hormones affect your mental well-being. They reduce stress, and you feel more relaxed. This has a direct effect on your body: Your blood pressure and cortisol (stress hormone) levels drop. Serotonin, oxytocin, and dopamine can also affect and reduce your perception of pain and promote healthy sleep.

To incorporate gratitude into your daily routine, you can list or write down what you're grateful for in the morning or evening, or meditate. Share your gratitude with friends or family and tell your loved ones what you're thankful for in your relationships.

2 You are the most important person in your life

Be honest: How often do you put your own needs aside to please others or because you feel like you have to live up to expectations? Your caring nature is something your loved ones especially appreciate about you, but self-care is just as important. If you don't take care of yourself enough, it's harder for you to be there for others.

Realize: You are the most important person in your life. Figure out what your needs are. Do you perhaps need more time alone? Do you have too many plans for the near future and can't keep up or relax? Try setting boundaries for yourself and saying no sometimes. Listen when your body or mind is telling you something, pamper yourself with things that make you feel good, and above all... be gentle with yourself.

3 Move

Exercise refreshes your body and mind. Aim to get moving throughout the day. This will keep your energy levels stable and give your mind a break. When it comes to exercise, it's also important to find out what works for you. It doesn't always have to be a power workout... You can dance to your favorite music, go for a walk, do yoga, or simply stretch. For some people, team sports are perfect for switching off, or a solitary walk is a great way to reconnect with nature. Whatever it is, celebrate it.

4 Check and promote your intestinal health

Your gut health is directly linked to your physical and mental health. Did you know that your gut and your brain are neurologically connected? There are actually 500 million neurons in the enteric nervous system—the gastrointestinal tract that constantly communicate with your brain. Your gut health therefore not only influences your physical health, it is also responsible for the chemical composition of your brain and can thus affect your mood or even depression. It also affects your digestion, your immune system, hormonal processes, your sugar and fat metabolism, and is responsible for the production of antioxidants in your body.

Ask yourself: What's your gut feeling? A wide variety of symptoms—physical and mental—can have their origins in an imbalanced gut flora. So check your eating habits and support your gut health with probiotics and prebiotics.

5 Good sleep works wonders

Good (or bad) sleep has a significant impact on your mental and physical well-being and your resilience. A stable sleep rhythm and good sleep hygiene are essential for your new start. A certain sleep routine is especially important for your body and mind, because various processes take place at night in which your body regenerates. Give it time and allow yourself to rest. In our article on sleep detox, you'll find 6 tips to improve your sleep quality. Because we know how important good sleep is for our overall health, we've developed our supplement " SWEET SLEEP ," which can naturally help you fall asleep faster and sleep better.

6 Digital Detox

We all know it: Too much screen time stresses us out and isn't healthy. Yet we often find it so difficult to put down our smartphones, turn off Netflix, or leave the laptop behind. However, for your mental and physical reboot, it's important to switch off once in a while. Start small and listen to yourself and see what the change is doing.

We hope our 6 tips for more self-care help you achieve your health reboot ! Remember: Be gentle with yourself—you can't implement all of them at once. Just start somewhere and observe the effects. Enjoy new routines on the path to better mental and physical health.
